Communicating With
Inmates
You can write to a
County Jail inmate by addressing a letter to them:

Envelopes can have no stickers or writing other
than addressee and return address; they must contain a return
address. Stickers, sexually explicit photographs or third-party
communications from inmates in other institutions are not allowed.
The jail cannot
accept incoming calls for inmates. Inmates are allowed to make
outgoing phone calls with a local collect charge of $1.95 per
15-minute call. Call recipient can choose whether or not to accept
the call.
If you are
receiving unwanted calls from County Jail inmates, you may contact
the jail staff who can block such calls to your phone
number.
Gifts for
Inmates
The jail will accept only
money for inmates. With the money credited to their account, inmates
can purchase various items of their choosing from the jail
commissary.
If you wish to
provide books, magazines or newspapers for an inmate, they must come
directly from a recognized book store or as a subscription to
the inmate. Material of a sexually explicit nature is not
allowed. |
