Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Our sexually transmitted disease program regrettably remains busy; diseases include:

  • Human Immunodeficiency Virus / Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS)
  • Syphilis
  • Gonorrhea
  • Chlamydia
  • Hepatitis B
  • Venereal warts
  • Other less known STIs

We ensure that individuals with a reported sexually transmitted infection (STI) are treated, that the source of their infection is identified and treated, that any further contacts are identified and treated, and that the cases are reported to the State of Washington.  We receive case reports from physicians, hospitals, and laboratories

HIV testing is available by appointment. The Health Department does not treat HIV patients.

Expedited Partner Therapy (EPT) Program for STDs

EPT refers to treating sex partners without requiring a medical exam. EPT is available in the form of prepackaged medication for a patient to give to their partner.
