2010 Proposed Road Construction ProjectsRoad

 

CRP 07- 05 McDonald Road  MP 0.47 to MP 2.26

Funding Source:  RAP/County
Construction Cost:  $1,300,000    
Project Start Date:  August 2009
Projected Completion Date: April 2010

This project consists of reconstructing McDonald Road and replacing an existing timber bridge. The road will be widened to 32 ft. The intersection at Detour Road will also be reconstructed. The new road will be 32 ft. wide. Paving and miscellaneous items are expected to be completed in 2010.

CRP 05-01 Lowden Bridge MP 2.47 to MP 2.97

Funding Source:  FHWA Bridge/STPR/County
Construction Cost:  $3,050,000    
Project Start Date:  June 2010.
Projected Completion Date:  April 2011

This project consists of replacing an existing two span concrete Luten arch bridge across the Walla Walla River with a 240 ft. single span concrete structure and reconstructing a portion of Lowden Gardena Road. The new road will be 32 ft. wide. There will not be a temporary public access across the river.

 

 

CRP 08-02 Harvey Shaw Road MP 9.5 to MP 11.6

Construction Cost:  $804,000
Project Start Date:  April 2010
Projected Completion Date:  July 2010

This project consists of realigning and improving safety along a 2 mile section of road by providing clear zone and realigning a portion of the existing road. The new road will be 32 ft. wide.

 

 

 

CRP 06-07  Touchet N. Road MP 10.2 to MP 10.9

Construction Cost:  $750,000
Project Start Date:  March 2010
Projected Completion Date:  July 2010

The bank supporting the road is slowly eroding. Cars have been cabled into the bank to support the road. At least one cable has broken and a car is missing from the bank. The bank slopes down to the Touchet River. Touchet N. Road will need to be realigned and moved away (west) from the Touchet River. Sight distance will be improved. The new road will be 32 ft. wide.

 

 

CRP 09-01  Mill Creek Road MP 4.7 to MP 4.8

Funding Source:  Forest Highways/County
Construction Cost:  $120,000
Project Start Date:  October 2009
Projected Completion Date:  July 2010

Mill Creek Road at Meiner Road is narrow and has a failing timber retaining wall. This project will widen the southbound lane to 16 ft., install guardrail and replace the deteriorating timber retaining wall system.

 

  

2010 ENGINEERING PROJECTS (DESIGN AND RIGHT OF WAY)

 

CRP 06-09 Old Milton Highway MP 1.3 to MP 2.1

Construction Cost:  $1,400,000
Design/Right of Way Cost:  $280,000
Complete Design and Right of Way Acquisition:  2010
Projected Construction Date:  2012

This project consists of reconstructing and widening Old Milton Highway from the Walla Walla River Bridge to Highway 125. The new road will be 40 ft. wide. Also included is the improvement of the intersection at Bussell and Snider Roads.

 

 CRP 07- 07 Sudbury Road MP 11.6 to MP 17.0

Construction Cost:  $300,000
Design/Right of Way Cost:  $40,000
Complete Design and Right of Way Acquisition:  2010
Projected Construction Date:  2011

This project consists of reconstructing portions of the road where drainage problems occur and chip sealing the roadway.

 

 

CRP 08- 03 McEntyre Bridge on Scott Road

Construction Cost:  $80,000 (County forces)

Projected Construction Date:  2011

This project consists of designing a small bridge to replace the existing structurally deficient timber bridge over the South Fork of Dry Creek.

 

Prospect Avenue MP 0.0 –MP 0.4 and MP 0.6 – MP 0.9

Projected Construction Date:  2012

This project consists of reconstructing and widening Prospect Road to a width of 40 ft. with sidewalk along the north side to match into completed projects and provide a continuous pedestrian path from Plaza Way to Howard Street.
