Building Permit Applications and Handouts

 UPDATE REGARDING THE ADOPTION OF THE 2021 WASHINGTON STATE BUILDING CODE:
The Washington State Building Code Council voted on September 15, 2023, to delay the effective date of the 2021 codes. The new effective date for all building codes is March 15, 2024. Previously, the effective dates were October 29, 2023, and July 1, 2023, respectively.
Applications may be submitted via postal mail or office front door drop-box or via email to permits@co.walla-walla.wa.us.  Per WWCC 14.07.050, a complete building permit application shall include a "fully completed and signed application form" and those documents required by WWCC Title 15 - Building and Construction, as listed on the application form; generally, building plans and a site plan are also required. Upon submittal of a permit your application will undergo a preliminary screening process where you may be referred to other staff members to determine if your project will require any Planning approvals.  The building permit application fee is $200.
