Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed)

SNAP-Ed is an evidence-based program that helps people lead healthier lives. SNAP-Ed teaches people using or eligible for SNAP benefits about good nutrition and how to make their food dollars stretch further. SNAP-Ed participants also learn to be physically active.

SNAP-Ed works by building partnerships with all types of community organizations.  You might see us offering samples at one of our local food banks or teaching nutrition education classes in elementary schools. We work with organizations to improve their policies, systems, and the environment in order to help make the healthy choice, the easy choice. Please contact Jessalyn Waring Bruce at jwaring@co.walla-walla.wa.us for more information.
